Matt and Joanna’s Wedding

What an incredible day! Stan and I had such a good time shooting Matt and Joanna’s gorgeous wedding and the day went off without a hitch . . . uh, almost.:)

When the ceremony was set to begin in less than 5 minutes and it became apparent that, no, the minister really was NOT going to show up, a lot of people went into panic mode. There were guests sitting outside, waiting for the ceremony to begin, without any clue in the world that there was no officiant.

Joanna’s mom and I high-tailed it across the street to a church and searched for an ordained minister. Believe it or not, we found not one, but TWO ordained ministers and picked the more clean-cut looking of the two.:)He reluctantly agreed to help and followed us back to the Allan House. It’s a GOOD thing Joanna had a copy of entire ceremony outline (way to go, Jo!) there so that the guy literally just had to read from the paper!

Well, no one would have guessed it, but he was AMAZING. He was such a natural and spoke so beautifully – it turned out to be such a great thing to have him there! Thanks so much, Fill-In Minister Dude. You saved the day!

Even with this small snafu, the day was perfect! We SO loved shooting your wedding, Matt and Joanna – thanks again for having us there!

Gorgeous hair and make-up by Jeni Hoover with Pearl Austin. Besides being a great hair and make-up stylist, Jeni is just the kind of girl you want around on your wedding day and is a sweetheart to the core!

Just after their “first sight” meeting – loooooooove it!

Oh, I adore this picture!

This was our first time to shoot at The Allan House and we loved it – what a gorgeous backdrop! Joanna did such an awesome job picking her colors and details – the wedding and reception were just amazingly beautiful! As always, Beth with Exquisite Petals officially “brought it” with her gorgeous flowers!

Cousins . . . cute!

Joanna’s daddy literally gave Matt her hand in marriage.:)So sweet!

Fill-in Minister Guy was amazing! He spoke as if he was meant to officiate their ceremony all along! It honestly gave me chills.

The evening lighting in the garden was just heaven.

These guys were my buddies for the evening! Jo and Matt had little cameras at each table for their guests to take pictures with. Well, the kids all quickly snatched these up and these three guys were photography machines! I feel like I should send each of them a few bucks!:)Joanna and Matt – I’m so sorry if you end up with like a hundred pictures of Stan and I, but these guys really wanted to make sure WE were captured!:)

Matt and Joanna have a bajillion nieces and nephews and it was so fun to see them running around enjoying the wedding! (Side note to sister-in-law: Beth, I want bunches of nieces and nephews, so you better get on it!:)Love you! )

Morgan and Noelle – you girls were the bomb! I had so much fun with you!

Matt, I love your dancing face!:)And there’s Joanna’s mom rockin’ it . . . Hey, Veronica – you’re adorable!

You may not be able to tell from the picture, but Matt and Joanna literally SPRINTED to their car. I was like “Whoa, what happened?!?!” And Stan was like, “Don’t worry babe, I got it!” Thanks for this fabulous pic, love!:)

That is a really crazy story. In my time, I had never heard of a minister not showing up. Did they ever find out what happened to him? On my wedding day, our pastor forgot his glasses so when it came time to ask me who do I take to marry, he said Michael instead of David. The crowd went crazy and it totally lightened the mood. Great images Stacy and Stan! And those little guys were hilarious! :)

I adore all the details from this wedding! Your work is beautiful. What a crazy story about the minister, but it sounds like the fill-in minister guy was meant to be! :)
