The End of a Journey

I have some very sad news to share with you all, our clients and friends. Yesterday (Saturday) at 1:30am, my wonderful father-in-law Stan III, passed away after a courageous 2.5 year battle against brain cancer. He was an incredible husband, father, and “Grampie”, and there will not be a day that goes by that we won’t miss him. Needless to say this is a very difficult time for our family. And if you’re a blog follower, you know that this is the second father we’ve lost in the past year. However, let me take this moment to say that Stan and I (and our entire families) still believe, with all our hearts, that God is GOOD and that he loves us deeply. We have felt so much peace and comfort in the midst of our sorrows and it truly passes all our understanding. Thank you for your love and prayers during this time and always.

Love,
Stacy (for Stan and Quin)

Quin’s First Birthday!

I can’t believe my baby boy is already ONE! ๐Ÿ™‚ Where does the time go?

Quin turned one last week and we had a very small, family birthday celebration together and it was really sweet. Stan and I decided to document the whole day – from beginning to end – in an attempt to capture memories, but also to just catch Quin in his daily routine, doing all the sweet, quirky things we love to see him do each day! Here are a few pics from the day.

With Quin’s first cry of the day, we marched into his room (at Nana and Grampie’s house), singing “Happy Birthday.” He was pretty confused, which made for some hilarious pictures. ๐Ÿ™‚ The pictures below were all taken during the first 30 minutes he was awake. This boy gets a lot done in half an hour!

Later in the day we sang happy birthday and did the cake thing. He loved the cake, but did not love the silly hat. ๐Ÿ™‚

By far, Quin’s FAVORITE part of his birthday was opening his birthday cards. Take note, those of you who think buying birthday cards for babies is silly! It made Quin’s WHOLE day to open them! Quin has started “reading” to us and he especially loved reading each card. It was SO adorable! The big picture is from when he opened his great-Nana’s card, which contained $20. He’s so smart that he immediately turned it over to his mommy. He knows who takes him to Toys R Us! ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Birthday, baby Quin! We love you SO much and can’t believe that we’ve been your parents for a whole year. It has been more fun and more fulfilling than we could have ever imagined and we can’t wait to see what this next year holds! Mommy and Daddy are SO proud of you, baby boy!

Ronnie and Kelsey’s Wedding

Ronnie and Kelsey’s wedding day fell on one of the most lovely days of the year here in Austin. Between the gorgeous weather and their beautiful details, this was one of the most incredible weddings we’ve ever had the pleasure of shooting. I could go on and on about all of Kelsey’s creative ideas and attention to detail, but I’ll let the pictures do the talking this time. Suffice it to say, it was stunning – and the beauty of it all just matched the beauty of the union that was made that day. Kelsey and Ronnie are simply perfect together. We’ve had time to grow in knowing them and their families more intimately than we normally get to with our clients, so their wedding day felt more like a family reunion for us than work! ๐Ÿ™‚ We love them so much and had such a great time capturing their day for them!
VENUE: Mercury Hall

I told you these details were incredible! I guess I don’t need to tell you how much I loved their colors. ๐Ÿ™‚

They had a FUN dance party, thanks in large part to the fabulous DJ styling of Look No Further Entertainment!

Ryan and Erin are Engaged!

You know how I tell you all the time that we love every single one of our couples? Well, that’s true . . . BUT, we REALLY love Ryan and Erin. To prove it to you, we had Erin as a bridesmaid and Ryan as the best man in our wedding 7 years ago! Little did we know then that these two would form a little love connection of their own a few years later. Their story is really an adventure with lots of twists and turns, but the most exciting part is that they’re totally in love and getting ready to tie the knot in December! Stan and I are THRILLED, to say the least! I’ll be without my right-hand-man at this one (Stan is a groomsman), but I’m excited to have Mrs. Allison M to help me capture their big day. Ryan and Erin – I’m simply GIDDY, thinking about being there with you in just a couple of months as you get married. It is an honor to be your friend AND your photographer. Love, Stacy

Today.

Ronnie and Kelsey’s wedding day has finally arrived and Stan and I could not feel more excited about shooting their glorious day. The sun is shining and the weather is amazing . . . both of which make me feel like today was meant to be – for them – perfect. They’ve weathered an incredible storm this year and I can’t help but feel that this gorgeous day is God’s promise that there is joy and hope and LOVE on the other end of life’s biggest challenges. Love you, K&R.
