Reason #342 and a Sneak Peek!

Almost as naturally as I am an external processor, I am very much a deep thinker. I spend most of my day having philosophical discussions in my mind, and often about things that should never, ever be over-thought. ๐Ÿ™‚ However, one thing I do a LOT of thinking about is the importance of having good pictures of life’s most valuable memories. I think a lot about WHY good photography is important . . . and when it comes to weddings, I always come to the same basic conclusion: having good photography (and good photographERS) is important because you only get one chance to document your one and only wedding day WELL.

I received an email from Sarah (Sarah and Matt were married this past Saturday and we shot their wedding) the other day that really opened my eyes to an entirely different side of why it’s important to have good photographers there to capture your big day (reason #342, if you’re keeping count ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and I asked her if I could share it with you. I plan on doing an extended post with many more photos from their day, but for now, here’s a little sneak peek, along with this wonderful email from Sarah!

Reason #342: So you don’t have to spend your wedding day worrying that you won’t remember your wedding day

Thank you guys so, so much for everything last night. We had an absolutely fabulous time, and what helped us to be able to enjoy ourselves was knowing that you and Stan were capturing the evening for us. I know I will never be able to remember every single aspect, and as much as I tried to stop every now and then to look around and take it all in, it was hard to do while trying to chat with everyone, get all the main events in, etc. Thank you so much for taking the time and the care to photograph our wedding day… a day that we will never want to forget and, thanks to your beautiful work, we won’t.

Have a great week and we can’t wait to see the pictures in a few weeks!

Morgan and Michelle’s Senior Portraits!

Morgan and Michelle did my absolute FAVORITE thing – the did their senior portrait session together and it was SO.MUCH.FUN!! ๐Ÿ™‚ Having a buddy there with you just makes the experience all the more enjoyable AND you get to get some cute pics of you and your bestie together during this exciting time in your lives! If you’re interested in having your senior session with me AND you want more details about splitting the sesh with a buddy, send me an email at the “Contact Us” link above!

This is Michelle and she is so great! ๐Ÿ™‚ She’s interested in pursuing physical or occupational therapy training in college next year and I think she’d be a great addition to the medical field. She’s super caring and sweet and I know she’ll do wonderfully!

This is Morgan and she’s zainy and hilarious! She impressed us all with her spot-on aim when she hit Michelle in the head with an acorn from like 100 feet away during their session – haha! ๐Ÿ™‚ Luckily, Michelle is the bomb and didn’t kill Morgan!

These two are just adorable – and hilarious! Did I mention that?! ๐Ÿ™‚

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Good morning, Internet! Being the parent of a baby/almost toddler is full of fun realizations about how life will never be the same as it was pre-baby. And to be completely honest, I wouldn’t have it any other way! I had one such realization this morning for the 9 millionth time. I wonder when these things won’t feel “new” anymore. ๐Ÿ™‚

Parent Realization # 334: No matter what time YOU get to bed, your baby will still wake up EARLY in the morning.

Ouch. Yeah, Stan and I got VERY little sleep last night (because of the AMAZING wedding we shot – YAY Sarah and Matt!), but we still had a little chirping bird waiting for us at 6:30 this morning. We decided to tag team the situation and get up together. We stumbled, bleary-eyed, into Quin’s bedroom and, as soon as we saw his beaming little face, we knew that our exhaustion was peanuts compared to getting to cuddle with the sweetest little red-headed munchkin in the world each and every morning.
Sunday mornings (or any other mornings, for that matter) may not be easy anymore, but boy are they great. ๐Ÿ™‚

Jared and Monika are Engaged!

Check me out . . . blogging two days in a row – haaaaay! It’s a blogging revoluuution! Oh my goodness, I’ve had too much coffee this morning. Forgive me. ๐Ÿ™‚

Monika and Jared are such a fantastic couple and I am SO excited that they’ve chosen us to shoot their wedding next year at Horseshoe Bay Resort. They met at work two and a half years ago and have now been engaged a year and a half! They’ll take the plunge in January and I know these two will be GREAT together!

I loved watching Jared at their engagement session . . . and getting to witness the way he loves and adores Monika. They crack each other up, which is awesome and will definitely help contribute to a happy, healthy marriage! M&J – thank you for a super FUN session and for trusting me the forty million times I said “Trust me! This is going to look awesome!” ๐Ÿ™‚ I hope you love the results!

Caroline’s Senior Portraits

I LOVE shooting senior portraits! It’s just SO much fun – and such a huge change of pace from weddings! It’s especially awesome to photograph a girl that’s not only beautiful – but kind, fun, and smart. It seems like ALL of my seniors fit this description, but Caroline fits it perfectly! She told me she was a bit unsure about having her picture taken and I almost picked her up and threw her in the lake! ๐Ÿ™‚ Are you kidding me?! WHY would you be scared to have your picture taken if you were this bright and beautiful? Silliness! Caroline, I hope you love your pictures . . . and that you truly know how gorgeous you are – inside and out! <3 Stacy
