Almost as naturally as I am an external processor, I am very much a deep thinker. I spend most of my day having philosophical discussions in my mind, and often about things that should never, ever be over-thought.However, one thing I do a LOT of thinking about is the importance of having good pictures of life’s most valuable memories. I think a lot about WHY good photography is important . . . and when it comes to weddings, I always come to the same basic conclusion: having good photography (and good photographERS) is important because you only get one chance to document your one and only wedding day WELL.
I received an email from Sarah (Sarah and Matt were married this past Saturday and we shot their wedding) the other day that really opened my eyes to an entirely different side of why it’s important to have good photographers there to capture your big day (reason #342, if you’re keeping count) and I asked her if I could share it with you. I plan on doing an extended post with many more photos from their day, but for now, here’s a little sneak peek, along with this wonderful email from Sarah!
- Reason #342: So you don’t have to spend your wedding day worrying that you won’t remember your wedding day
Thank you guys so, so much for everything last night. We had an absolutely fabulous time, and what helped us to be able to enjoy ourselves was knowing that you and Stan were capturing the evening for us. I know I will never be able to remember every single aspect, and as much as I tried to stop every now and then to look around and take it all in, it was hard to do while trying to chat with everyone, get all the main events in, etc. Thank you so much for taking the time and the care to photograph our wedding day… a day that we will never want to forget and, thanks to your beautiful work, we won’t.
Have a great week and we can’t wait to see the pictures in a few weeks!
