Mike and Melissa’s Wedding!

Mike and Melissa’s gorgeous and FUN wedding and reception took place a few weeks ago at the lovely Laguna Gloria. The day was coordinated by my friend Bethany and her crew from 36th Street Events and it was perfect! Because Mike and Melissa live in DCย  and this was a destination wedding for them and all of their guests, we hadn’t met any of them until the wedding day. No worries – turns out every single person was the bomb and just such a blast to work with! ๐Ÿ™‚

Melissa tied some lace from her mother’s wedding dress into her bouquet – so sweet.

I loved all the amazing floral design by Visual Lyrics. It was just gorgeous!

Melissa and Mike timed their ceremony to begin right as the sun was setting, so it made for some rich, deep colors as the sky grew darker and the candlelit walkway was warm and beautiful.

They had all of these amazing appetisers passed around. The coolest looking one was the grilled cheese sandwiches in tomato basil soup. Way to go, Crave!

This was absolutely one of the most fun reception events ever! Melissa and Mike had karaoke for all of their guests and it was a HUGE enormous hit! Brilliant, guys!

The flower girl’s multiple performances were especially entertaining!

A perfect ending to a perfect night – down at the capitol! Thanks M&M for letting us capture this day for you – what a blast! We wish you a lifetime of that kind of laughter and fun! ๐Ÿ™‚

Anthony and Brooke are engaged!

Hey everyone! I’m sorry for the lack of blog posts lately. As I’m sure you can imagine, this time of year is especially super busy for a wedding photographer – between weddings, portraits, album orders, the holidays, family stuff, etc. Things are getting pretty crazy, but it’s definitely good crazy and not bad crazy, so that’s a blessing! ๐Ÿ™‚ I know this time of year is pretty wildly busy for most people, so I hope it’s going well for you, too!

Here are a few favorite shots from Brooke and Anthony’s engagement session last week. These two are adorable and so much in love. I just enjoy the heck out of them!

Colin and Mallory are engaged!

Oh my goodness! I feel like I’ve been eating, breathing, and dreaming nothing but engagement sessions lately! Lucky for me, each one has been a lovely breath of fresh air! Colin and Mallory were absolutely no exception. These guys were good enough to drive all the way from Dallas for their session on Town Lake. We enjoyed some beautiful weather, glorious light, and silly conversation. Thanks to Aunt Kim for coming along to help us out!

Matt and Joanna are engaged!

It was the way she could share anything – even the deepest, darkest, and yes, most embarrassing things – with him without fear that he would get scared and run away. It was the way she made him feel completely comfortable to let his guard down and finally, truly be himself. When I asked Matt and Joanna what made them come to the realization that their “to-be” was THE one, the answers they gave spoke of a solid, healthy foundation for a happy and life-long marriage. I love it when I meet one of my couples for the first time and get to experience a small little piece of what their relationship looks like. And it is always so wonderful to see two people matched as perfectly as Matt and Joanna. We had so much fun on what was one of the most beautiful days in recent history as we ran around Southwestern University’s campus – where the magic began – for their engagement session. Thanks for such a fun day, guys!

They brought their sweet dog Reilly along for a few family portraits at the beginning of their session! Special shout-out to Uncle Max for babysitting – thanks, Max! ๐Ÿ™‚

This one on the left is my favorite!

Their relationship began at a Southwestern basketball game where Matt finally got the courage to talk to Joanna!

I asked them if their school had any special hand signal (like the longhorns or the aggies, etc) and they said no. But then, in unison, as though completely planned, the threw their pirate hooks in the air! Go Pirates!

Okay, I changed my mind. This one’s my favorite!
