Cameron and Lauren: Engaged!

I had a really wonderful engagement session with the absolutely gorgeous Lauren & Cameron. These guys looked fabulous and their chemistry was so fun to photograph!

We took some of their pictures out at the capitol and while we were there, we spotted an albino squirrel! I was able to educate these guys about the University of Texas Albino Squirrel legend. Those of you that went to UT will remember looking for albino squirrels on the way to your exams. Legend has it that if you cross an albino squirrel on the way to an exam, you’ll get an A. ๐Ÿ™‚

I completely forgot, however, to tell them about the Albino Squirrel Society. Pretty awesome. If you’re bored at work, go check it out!

Anyway, back to L&C – here are a few of my maaaaaany favorites from their session . . .

This may be my favorite engagement picture of all time!! ๐Ÿ™‚

Please tell me that you agree with me on this: Cameron looks like a young Bruce Willis and Lauren looks like Kelly Ripa in this next picture. Honestly, I think it’s uncanny!!

There’s a mouse in my house – Part II

Okay. This mouse has to go.

I’m not sure if the mouse that’s in our house reads my blog or what, but the day after I wrote my first blog post about him, he decided to terrorize me when I was most vulnerable.

Let me paint this picture for you . . . .

5:30am – Wednesday – Stacy is awake for clinicals and is about to hop in the shower. Waiting, waiting, waiting for the water to get warm.

Suddenly, though her vision without her contacts in is fuzzy at best, she notices a big furry ball in the toilet. “That’s strange. Never seen that before.”

And before another thought could come, the furry ball suddenly disappeared!ย  “No . . . it couldn’t . . . is it?”

Then the furry ball reappeard, but this time, with a face and ears!!

“AGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!” (blood-curdling screams)

With that, the mouse hopped (yes, really hopped) out of the toilet and ran ACROSS HER FEET TWICE before she flung open the door to allow for his escape!

Stan, half awake and half asleep, ran in from the bedroom to find out which of Stacy’s bones had just been broken.ย  Stan comforted Stacy with promises of “he’ll probably never bother you again” and “don’t worry, we’ll get him” and “he’s long gone now”.

Yep. He has to go.

Edward and Michelle’s Wedding!

Man, these guys are really cool! ๐Ÿ™‚ They are both just genuinely beautiful people that have incredible hearts. Funny how people like that end up marrying each other! ๐Ÿ™‚

These guys have waited so patiently for me to get a sneak peek from their wedding up on the blog, so I hope they enjoy these! Their wedding took place in Houston, not far from my parents’ house, so it was fun to spend the weekend with my family AND get the chance to be a part of this beautiful wedding! We have a really wonderful job and we love every minute of it!

This was the moment in the ceremony that almost knocked me off my feet. When asked “who gives this woman to be married to this man” Michelle’s dad could barely keep it together to answer the question. I love it when you can tangibly FEEL the love of a father for his daughter – what an incredible thing. And what a huge privilege to be the one to take the picture!

The church was an architectural dream come true!!

“The couple that prays together stays together.” ๐Ÿ™‚ Loved this moment in the ceremony.

Just after the ceremony, Stan captured this moment that I have fallen in love with and can’t stop coming back to. Way to go Stan! ๐Ÿ™‚

The windows in the church were absolutely incredible. We had to take advantage of the gorgeous light streaming in!

Michelle and Edward met in the Wranglers Dance Team at Texas A&M. They and ALLLLL of their friends were incredible dancers – I had to remind myself to actually take pictures rather than stand there with my mouth open in disbelief! ๐Ÿ™‚ Haha!

So, after Michelle and Edward dazzles all of us with their first dance, Michelle’s dad came out to the dance floor for the father-daughter dance. He said “Oh, now this is not fair!” It was hilarious! How could he possible follow that crazy amazing routine?! Well, he’s lucky he’s so darn cute because he completely ruled the room as he danced with his daughter – sooo sweet!

I LOVE this picture during the cake cutting! Do you think Edward was looking forward to the cake?!

Hello again! Edward and Michelle allowed for a bit of time just after their reception for pictures because the lighting outside was still great! It was so nice to get a few minutes with them before they left for their honeymoon!

Amber’s Senior Portraits!

The other day I had the opportunity to get together with my buddy Terri and her lovely sister Amber for Amber’s senior portraits. Terri is a very very talented florist who works with tons of photographers, so I was incredibly honored that she would want me to shoot Amber’s portraits!

Amber was so much fun to photograph! She has a very clean, lovely, American-girl type beauty that I feel really came forth in her pictures. She is also an extremely gifted drummer and is planning on pursing a music further as she enters college. She has not decided where she wants to go yet, but she’s already gotten accepted one really great school with a wonderful music program and I am sure that she will excel no matter where she ends up. Amber – I had so much fun with you the other day! Thanks for letting me capture these fabulous pictures for ya. ๐Ÿ™‚ Here are a few of my favorites!

LOOK at this gorgeous girl!!

Had to bust out da drums for a few fun shots!

I am absolutely in LOVE with the next photo on the left!

There’s a mouse in my house!

Stan and I got back in town last night after a really great weekend with our family. Apparently I was completely exhausted, because not only did I miss the hour and a half mouse hunt that took place in our bathroom in the middle of the night, but, according to Stan, I also discussed the mouse, catching the mouse, Buddy going after the mouse, and other such nonsense with Stan in my sleep! He claims that when I woke up to him trying to catch the mouse, I mumbled about how “it’s just a mouse” and we should “let it live” and “leave it alone”. Funny thing is, I don’t remember this AT ALL! ๐Ÿ™‚

Tonight is the night. Mr. Mouse will be caught. Don’t worry – because I’m a total mush ball when it comes to animals, we are setting one of those humane traps, catching the mouse, and setting him free outside. I’ll let you know how it goes. In the meantime, here’s a picture of our mouse on his family vacation last summer at the lake. This picture was taken while Mr. Mouse was taking a swim with his dad. Needless to say, he’s adopted.
